Illustration
Tea in motion, city wide,
Carried through its shifting tide.
Fire and rhythm, stories unfold,
Passed through hands, both fierce and bold.
A culture-driven tea packaging system that reimagines Hong Kong’s trading legacy through movement, storytelling, and the Fire Horse Girl as carriers of connection.
CHALLENGE
To design a tea packaging system that moves beyond generic luxury aesthetics and instead captures the cultural depth, history, and dynamic movement of Hong Kong.
INSIGHT
Hong Kong’s identity is rooted in trade, motion, and exchange, where goods, people, and stories constantly travel, yet traditional narratives often overlook the role of women within this flow.
IDEA
Reimagine tea as “cargo in motion,” distributed across the city by women riding fire horses, turning them into symbolic carriers of culture, strength, and continuity.
EXECUTION
An isometric illustration of Old Hong Kong forms the core, centered around a tea house (Cargo No. 1966), with a muted archival palette and red accents to depict movement. The system extends across five tea variants, creating a cohesive, narrative-led packaging experience.
